Over a decade ago, Mateen began advocating for the rights of personal injury victims, successfully resolving hundreds of Statutory Accident Benefits claims. Her seven years of experience as an Accident Benefits Paralegal confirmed her longstanding desire to attend law school and further advance her legal career.

In addition to her significant work experience, her undergraduate studies in Psychology further trained her to approach problems with flexibility and creativity and to communicate effectively with people from different cultural and educational backgrounds. Mateen is fluent in Farsi and Dari.

Mateen received her Juris Doctor degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2011 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2012. Prior to joining Romeo Pitaro as an associate lawyer, Mateen articled at another plaintiff personal injury law firm in Toronto.

Mateen’s practice is exclusively focused on personal injury litigation on behalf of injured plaintiffs. Mateen is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, the Advocates Society and the Iranian-Canadian Lawyers Association.
